The highly anticipated February 2026 Pokémon Presents broadcast delivered a wave of major announcements, headlined by the reveal of an entirely new generation of games. The presentation confirmed the upcoming release of Pokémon Mythos and Pokémon Axiom, launching later this year on the next-generation Nintendo console.
Set in the expansive new region of Aethel, inspired by mythic landscapes, the games will introduce over 100 new Pokémon. This includes two new starter types: the Grass-type cub, Foliant; the Fire-type chick, Scorchling; and the Water-type otter, Rivulet. A central gameplay innovation, the "Dynamax Wilds," allows certain areas to be explored with Pokémon remaining at their giant Dynamax sizes, altering traversal and battle dynamics.
Significant updates were also confirmed for the mobile scene. Pokémon GO will see a full integration of the new Aethel region species later this year, while Pokémon UNITE is slated to receive a major new map and gameplay mode. Furthermore, the popular Pokémon Trading Card Game Live will debut a new card series featuring the Mythos & Axiom expansion this fall, with physical products to follow.
The presentation concluded with a confirmation that more details on Pokémon Mythos and Axiom will be shared this summer, setting the stage for the next major evolution of the franchise.
