5 Fun Summer Games With Beaches

Summer is here, and for many people that means heading to the coast. But if you are stuck indoors or just want to enjoy the seaside vibe from your couch, a few video games capture that feeling surprisingly well. I have played a lot of games over the years, and these five stand out for their memorable beach areas. They are not all blockbusters, but each one left an impression.

First is "Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball." It is an old Xbox classic that is all about relaxing on a tropical island. You play volleyball, swim, and give gifts to other characters. It is silly and shallow, but the sunny atmosphere is hard to beat.

Next, "Wave Race 64" still holds up. The blue water and realistic wave physics make every race feel like a real day at the beach. The sound of the engine and the splash of the ocean are oddly soothing.

For something more obscure, try "Endless Ocean." This Wii game lets you dive into coral reefs and swim with sea creatures. There is no combat or stress, just peaceful exploration. It feels like snorkeling without getting sand in your shorts.

Another good one is "Sonic Adventure" for the Dreamcast. The first level, Emerald Coast, has Sonic running along a sunny beach and jumping off cliffs into the water. The music is cheerful, and the whole stage screams summer vacation.

Finally, "Grand Theft Auto: Vice City" is not a beach game, but its Ocean Beach area is perfect for cruising in a convertible. The neon lights, palm trees, and 80s radio stations create a fake but fun version of Miami.

These games are not for everyone, but if you want a digital escape to the shore, they deliver. No links, no extra fluff. Just good memories of virtual sand and surf.
