The studio behind the chaotic honking of Untitled Goose Game is back, and this time they are trading the village for the mountains. Their new project, Big Walk, is a cooperative puzzle adventure built for up to four players. The core loop is simple: you and your friends take a long hike together, solving environmental puzzles as you go. But if you know this developer, you know the real fun is in the messing around.
The game leans heavily into physics-based interactions. You can grab objects, throw them, and, crucially, grab your friends. The trailer shows players casually tossing each other off cliffs, using one another as makeshift bridges, and generally turning a peaceful nature walk into a slapstick disaster. The puzzles themselves seem to require teamwork, but the game never punishes you for failing. In fact, failing together is half the point.
Big Walk is designed for both online and local co-op, with a focus on open-ended exploration. There is no timer, no fail state, just a series of interconnected trails and secrets to uncover. The art style is a soft, painterly take on wilderness, a stark contrast to the mischievous tone of the gameplay. It is a strange mix, but one that feels fresh. The game is expected to release sometime next year, with no announced price yet. If you have a group of friends who enjoy ruining a good plan, this one is worth watching.
